BeWild
For women who are done being caged!
Would you like to feel more courageous, more resilient, more connected, more…well…you?!
This is Being Wild.
“The most powerful personal development programme I’ve ever done.”
Stunning wild venues. Space to breathe, to explore, to grow. Gentle challenge, deep support. New, lifelong friends. A safe space to stretch your edges and rediscover your courage.
Imagine the archetypal Wild Woman. She’s confident. She’s grounded. She’s comfortable in her own skin. Connected to the seasons and cycles. Not afraid of what people think of her. Playful. Sexy. Sassy. Alive!
Wild Women’s Wisdom helps you rediscover and reconnect with this energy, this wisdom. Not by running away to the woods or returning to who you were, but by remembering who you are. Wildness is in your DNA! After all, your ancestors were wild women! It’s not that long ago, in evolutionary terms, that we were living in tune with the seasons and cycles, with the heartbeat of the land, with wild blood running through our veins.
Wild Women’s Wisdom is about reconnecting with and reclaiming this ancient wisdom, within the realities of our fast-paced, modern world. From the comfort of your own home (yes, you don’t even need to come camping!) this is an online deep dive journey into your inner wild.
We ask ourselves: what does it mean to BE wild, and how can we tune into the wisdom of the old ways and the cycles of the year, our own nervous systems, our own “taming”? How can you help yourself feel more resourced, more connected and more confident - more in touch with your inner Wild Woman - and how can that help you thrive, in all areas of your life; your work, business, relationships and health?
Who is it for?
BeWild is for you if:
You’re continually seeking a deeper understanding of yourself, your mind, your body and your nervous system - you love personal development and you’re looking for something a bit different!
You want to access more courage, confidence, energy and authenticity.
You resonate with the sense of having been “tamed” and are ready to explore untaming yourself!
You’re interested in learning more about - and honouring - the seasons and cycles, both Nature’s and your own.
You have a sense that there is more to be had from life - more ease, more joy, more connection, more meaning. And an inkling that there should be an easier, more intuitive way to get that!
You want to take your growth beyond the mind, beyond theory, and experience an embodied sense of confidence, ease, resilience and joy, that you can put into practice in your life, work, relationships and health.
You’d benefit from a high level of support, challenge, growth and fellowship/community over the next year.
You’re keen to get out more in nature and intuitively sense its power.
Some of my previous wild women
What does it mean to Be Wild?
Being Wild isn’t about running away from modern day life and returning to live in caves. It’s about reimagining how to navigate modern life using the skills, wisdom, qualities and gifts of nature and the old ways.
Being Wild is rediscovering access to courage, confidence, authenticity, playfulness, resilience, joy, strength, awareness, alertness, calm, groundedness, instinct, intuition, self-belief, vitality, connection and compassion.
It’s remembering who you truly are, reconnecting with the wildness your body knows, then applying that to thrive in your every day life, career, business and relationships.
Being Wild is choosing who YOU want to be. Who YOU want to show up as. What YOU stand for. It’s as simple and as complicated as being YOU. Sometimes you’ve just got to dig beneath the layers that have accumulated over the years to rediscover who that really is!
“BeWild literally transformed my life. I wouldn’t be where I am now, doing what I’m doing, without it.” - Previous participant
So what is BeWild?
BeWild is a year-long journey for women who know they want more from life. Women who love taking themselves on but are bored of stuffy leadership training, theoretical learning, or solely-online programmes and want something different. Something more in tune with nature’s seasons and cycles. More connection to both the inner and the outer wild. It’s a journey of nature connection meets personal growth that is going to profoundly change how you see yourself, how you relate to others and how you show up in the world. Getting back to basics but with high levels of support, it’s about reconnecting to yourself through connecting with the wild and your fellow tribe of wild women.
As part of BeWild you’ll journey through the seasons of the year as a small tribe of wild-women-in-training, combining four wild, seasonal retreats in stunning and varied locations, the Wild Women’s Wisdom workshop series, a real life wolf encounter, regular online circle and coaching calls and direct access to me (ask me anything, at any time!).
As a small, close knit village we’ll dive deeper into connection with self and with each other through diving deeper into connection with the wild. In particular, we explore “the Wild Woman” archetype, seasons and cycles, nature connection, foraging, bushcraft, group dynamics and village-building activities. And, as with all Wildfire retreats, you can certainly expect plenty of laughter, campfire-cooked food, songs, stories, spaciousness, deep replenishment, soul-searching and shared wisdom.
The intention of BeWild is not to turn you into a die-hard outdoorsy person, rather to build confidence with being out in nature, to expand your comfort zone, to cultivate a deeper sense of connection, clarity and courage in life and business, and to harness the power of the Wild Woman to thrive in all areas of your life.
Curious?!
And, perhaps, also feeling a little bit of trepidation/excitement/uncertainty?! Perfect!
The fact that you’re here tells me that something in you is hearing The Call.
The Call of the Wild.
The Call to a deeper journey.
The Call to something deep inside you that craves connection, tribe, wildness, adventure, and a homecoming to lost ways.
It takes certain amount of courage and commitment to answer that call. Courage which you, my dear, have in bucketloads (you just don’t know it yet!).
“BeWild feels like a homecoming for me. I feel deeply connected to the land, to a whispered past of living in line with the seasons and in commune with the earth.”
Sarah Hurrell, BeWild 2021

You don't have to be a die-hard outdoorsy person to enjoy and benefit from this programme. In fact it is designed for women who wouldn't necessarily go camping or out walking on their own but feel drawn to nature and would like to experience something a little more wild and adventurous than you're used to.
This will be a safe compassionate space for you to explore what it is like to be truly out in the wild, with the support of Jen and other like minded women. There will be plenty of support for the practical aspects of being out in the wild.
That said, this is not for the faint hearted! This journey will challenge you - indeed that is one of the reasons it is so transformational. You may well meet your "edge", so you must be prepared for that. A certain level of self-reliance is needed, however if you are willing to explore courage and are willing to be a little bit uncomfortable in the name of connecting with yourself and nature even more profoundly, then yes, this journey is for you.
To help us both decide whether this journey is right for you acceptance onto the programme is via a conversation with me, so if you’re feeling called, book a chat with me here.

Sorry-not-sorry: Yes!
I get it. Camping is not everyone’s idea of fun, and, you’d be amazed at how camping out in the wild on BeWild is very different to any camping experiences you may have had in the past!
If you’re not a camper, don’t worry, lots of support is given in this regard. My aim is to be make you comfortable enough with the camping that you can enjoy the experience of going to sleep and waking up in the wild, and the incredible benefits that slowing down and switching off bring, which just aren’t possible when you’re boxed up in a hotel room with artificial lights and electricity!
A full kit list is provided, gear is available to hire if needed, creature comforts are encouraged, and many women go on to love their camping experience, as well as the wider journey.
If you’re still not convinced, I highly recommend reading Caroline’s story. She went from being highly suspicious of the whole camping idea to absolutely loving her little tent nest!
-
Depending on which location we are at there is either a compost toilet or portaloo, but there are no showers. This is truly back to basics!
On Dartmoor we are however very lucky to have a very beautiful, natural but cold bath right on site....the stream! And in Cornwall we are not too far from the sea, plus there is a small stream we can dip in too. It's fresh, but there's something incredibly invigorating about bathing in wild water. Many women think they will find the lack of showers one of the most challenging aspects of the retreats but it just becomes part of the adventure.
-
Ideally, yes, although I do have a couple of small tents that you can hire for the retreats, which will be available on a first-come-first-served basis.
You will need to bring your own bedding/mattresses etc. A full kit list will be provided and most women find they can source what they need by borrowing or hiring some of the bigger items, if they don’t wish to buy their own, and I do have some spares of many items if needed.
More information about what you need to bring with you will be provided when you book, but it is my intention that no one has to buy a load of kit they might not use again, so don’t let kit concerns put you off.
If you have any questions do feel free to email me to ask. There are no silly questions when it comes to being comfortable out in the wild!
-
Due to the nature of the wild, particularly for the Dartmoor retreat, you really do need at least a certain level of mobility, if not fitness, to take part fully. Whilst all activities are optional - including the walk up to and back from the hut at the beginning and end of the Dartmoor retreat - your experience will be greatly enhanced if you can take part fully.
Being Dartmoor, and given the nature of river valleys in that region, there will be some scrambling over rocks, tree roots and undergrowth, and some climbs up slopes, however nothing should be too strenuous that it is out of the realms of someone with a basic level of fitness.
The area around camp and getting down to the stream (e.g. to bathe and to collect water) is uneven and can be slippery, so if you feel this may be a problem for you please discuss with me in the first instance so we can check that you will be able to manage.
-
Maybe. You’ll know what your priorities are right now. If there’s something obvious that needs sorting, maybe it would be better to attend to that first.
That said, here’s my belief. You are your greatest asset. Whether that’s in business, your family, your career, your health. My guess is that you’re here because you have a sneaking suspicion that fixing XYZ won’t actually make a fundamental difference to your life, if you don’t address the deeper, innate, niggling sense that there’s something more to all this.
That, my love, is your wildness calling!
I believe that understanding - and accessing - your wildness; your sense of connection, courage, resourcefulness and joy; will support you to make sense of and thrive in all areas of your life.
Not sure? Read on further down the page to get a sense of what you’ll explore in each retreat to get a sense of how this work will support you across the board!
Still not sure? Let’s have a conversation.

The short answer is, yes, you can at least register your interest for next intake, however I encourage you to think about why you think you’re not ready….. Here are some reasons you might want to sign up for this intake, now:
How often have you put things off until you (think you’ll) feel ready, and they never happen? You’re not alone! The thing is, I believe we’ll never feel truly ready for the things that are actually going to make the biggest difference in our lives…because they are calling us to step up in ways we haven’t before…and it’s that stepping up that makes the difference.
One of my favourite quotes is “if you wait until you’re ready, you’ll be waiting the rest of your life”. Why delay embarking on a journey if you know it’s going to make such a difference to your life? Also, this programme will help you address that tendency to delay scary things in the future: many graduates of BeWild have gone on to do things they’d never had imagined doing before!
This is the fifth cohort of BeWild, and I don’t always run it every year. In the future it may only run once every two years to make space for my BeWilder programme and other exciting projects. Can you afford to wait another two years?
Are you interested in learning to work with women or run retreats out in nature yourself? I’m a big believer that if you want to hold a type of work, you need to have fully immersed yourself in it first. You will learn huge amounts about holding safe spaces for groups out in the wild, and, more importantly, greatly enhance your own comfort and capacity to work out in nature, through doing this programme, which I myself have acquired through decades of my own practice and numerous trainings.
If you need space to breathe, to switch off, to be supported and to reconnect to that woman inside who has perhaps gotten lost along the way, please don’t wait another year. YOU deserve to make yourself a priority. I promise you, investing time and money in YOU will be one of the best investments you ever make.

This is a personal development programme and you can expect a certain level of individual stretch, challenge and feedback as well as some coaching as part of the group, either explicitly or through guided personal reflection. This reflection, challenge and coaching will take place throughout the programme, both during retreats and in the monthly circle calls.
Many women choose to deepen their experience further by working 1-1 with me in addition to the group work, through the BeWild: Unleashed package. This option includes everything in BeWild PLUS a package of 1-1 coaching sessions. This option is highly recommended and can be discussed more during your BeWild Discovery Call.

Yes, and no!
Many women fear they’ll feel like the odd one out, or that everyone else will be more outdoorsy/experienced/cleverer/ confident/younger/fitter… etc. You name it, I’ve heard it!
The beautiful thing about our BeWild tribe is that it’s small and intimate (max 10 places), everyone is different, and we’re all equal, all valuable, all welcomed. We have women join us of all ages, all backgrounds, all levels of experience with the outdoors - some have never camped, some are keen campers. Some have done heaps of personal development, some have done little or none. Some are super fit, some aren’t.
Whilst we’ll always have a conversation to ensure it’s a right fit all around, please know that the chances are, if you are feeling the call, you definitely belong. And the BeWild tribe offers a sense of belonging that many women have never truly experienced before.
If you’re biggest fear is whether you’ll belong, know that you already do!

“Being able to switch off and unplug from the noise and the busyness of modern life is probably one of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves…being able to connect with nature, ourselves and build powerful connections with my fellow “BeWilders” has allowed me to dig deep and peel away the layers of judgement and expectation of modern life and just simply be me...! A truly transformational experience like nothing else.”
“Jen holds a delicious and healing space for attendees.”
“I had been looking for a leadership development programme/coaching for executives, but everything out there sounded so dull and boring.
When a fellow business owner recommended Jen and BeWild to me I just knew I needed it – even though I hated camping!
BeWild was an experience of being wild and free, of trying new things, of being stripped back to me. A safe place of fellowship and just BEING.”
“I am so grateful I found the courage to Be Wild. Through it I am discovering who I really am and want to be. What a gift - it is absolutely transformational!”
What will I learn?
In each 2.5 hour wild Wisdom Workshop we’ll dive deep into one core aspect of “being wild” in a modern world. These workshops are a mixture of teaching, discussion, reflection and inspiration, with helpful strategies and “Wild Play” invitations to help you integrate the learnings into your day-to-day life. Here’s what we’ll cover in each workshop in more detail.
Be More Tree: Nourish and Flourish (Winter Cycle)
In “Be More Tree” we look to the wisdom of the majestic oak. What do we need in order to thrive in our lives, and when do we most need it? What nourishes us and our output into the world, and what “drains and strains” limit our ability to be our best selves and do our best work?
A perfect on-the-cusp-of-winter evening workshop, as the oaks themselves are drawing their energy inwards ready for their winter “sleep”, you’re invited to come cuddled up cosy: blankets, cuppas, candles welcome! Together you’ll each create your own “Nourish and Flourish” tree using a template I’ll guide you through, which can support you to winter well and then continue to nourish yourself into spring and the rest of the year.
Perfect if: You struggle to look after yourself or put your own needs first. You know you should be looking after yourself better, but it never seems to make the top of the priority list. You’re always exhausted, or on the cusp of burnout. Or perhaps you simply like the idea of some precious time to yourself, focusing on you, and exploring the idea of “being more tree”!
Rest, Resilience and Resourcing: Working with your nervous system (Winter Cycle)
Ever felt hijacked by your nervous system? Stuck in a spiral of overwhelm, procrastination and negative self-talk? Crippled by fear that stops you putting yourself out there? This session will be a game changer for you!
This is where we take the understanding of wildness out of our heads and into our bodies. Diving into the realm of polyvagal theory - how and why our body recognises, experiences and reacts to perceived threats, stresses and safety cues - in an engaging and accessible way, you’ll learn how your parasympathetic (rest and digest) and sympathetic (fight and flight) nervous systems function, why they are both important, and, more crucially, how to hack them and harness their power!
Perfect if: You feel in constant “fight or flight” mode, or constantly stressed. You struggle to switch off and relax. You procrastinate on doing things you know will help you. You would love to be more creative, social, confident or hopeful. You struggle to switch off, or, when you do, you “crash” completely. You find yourself “numbing out” with scrolling, TV, alcohol. You struggle to self-regulate and frequently feel anxious, irritable or on high-alert.
Sound good?
Need to know more? Read on to find out more about the workshops in the Spring cycle.
Understanding and Untaming Your Selves: A journey towards wholeness (Spring Cycle)
“We’ve tamed ourselves, and in doing so, we’ve lost ourselves.” You’ll no doubt have heard me saying this somewhere along the way, and in this workshop we’ll dive into what I really mean by that. We’ll explore our own individual “taming” stories in terms of all the parts/subpersonalities that keep us tamed - think your Pusher, Perfectionist, Responsible Self, Pleaser and Inner Critic, amongst others!
Through this powerful and insightful lens of Parts Theory we’ll gently investigate what or who stopped us “being wild”, and how through an awareness and understanding of these parts we can begin the journey of “untaming”.
Perfect if: You know you have a strong Pusher/Protector/Pleaser/Inner Critic etc, and you’d LOVE to get space from them! You want to feel more confident, playful, authentic, free, assertive, focused, and even though you’ve tried different approaches before, something always seems to get in the way. You want a deeper understanding of what drives you, what stops you, why you procrastinate - AND implementable strategies for overcoming these hurdles.
The Wild Woman: Rediscovering her wisdom and harnessing her power (Spring Cycle)
In this workshop we bring together all our learnings and explore the archetype of the Wild Woman herself. What are her strengths, her gifts, her shadows? What does “wild” mean to each of us individually? There’s no right answer here, simply exploration, curiosity, reflection. We’ll then explore strategies for reconnecting with the supportive and powerful qualities of the Wild Woman that will most help you navigate the ups and downs of your modern-day life.
Perfect if: You want to rediscover/reclaim your sense of confidence, joy, playfulness, resilience. You feel like you’ve lost who you are over the years, feel buried under labels (mum/boss/daughter/friend/wife), and want to rediscover and feel more like “you” again. You’d like to find a more natural, intuitive and authentic way to feel confident and empowered, without wearing even more masks.

“Jen has the most gorgeous energy about her, which shines through even online. Her knowledge, and passion, for her work is infectious, and I love how she encouraged all of us to believe in our own inner wild woman. I learned so much from Jen's Wild Women's Wisdom programme - about myself, about human nature, and about how we can embrace the energy of the seasons to thrive in our own lives, whatever is going on for us. The coaching calls were expertly facilitated by Jen, and as always, I gained so much from watching others in the community being coached.
If you know you have more to bring to the world, and you're looking for a unique approach to coaching and growth, book a chat with Jen. Whatever you choose to do next, you'll gain something just from being on a call with her.”
